Underbrain entstand Mitte 2022 aus dem Bedürfnis heraus, Musik zu machen, die in Chile nicht sehr verbreitet ist, und auch als Reaktion auf das Chaos, das wir als Land zu dieser Zeit erlebten.

Wann und wie bist du zur Musik gekommen?

Ich hatte in der Vergangenheit mehrere Industrial-Musikprojekte gemacht, aber keines davon war so persönlich wie Underbrain.

Lebst du hauptberuflich von der Musik? Wenn nein, was ist dein Beruf?

Nein, das tue ich nicht. Ich arbeite in der Welt des Verkaufs, aber wenn ich die Möglichkeit hätte, Vollzeit-Musiker zu sein, würde ich mir die Chance sicher nicht entgehen lassen.

Wie entsteht ein Lied? Zuerst die Melodie, oder zuerst der Text?

In meinem Fall beginne ich mit einer Melodie, die ich in dem Moment im Kopf habe, und entsprechend dieser Ideen drücke ich sie musikalisch aus. Ich kann mir eine fiktive Szene vorstellen oder versuchen, ein Gefühl auszudrücken.

Was ist deine Inspirationsquelle?

Emotionen und Gefühle, die katastrophal oder surreal erscheinen können.

Nach welchen Kriterien wird die Setlist zusammengestellt?

Sie wird nach den Kriterien einer kraftvollen Show zusammengestellt, die keine Pausen kennt. Live spielen heißt für mich, alles zu geben. Es gibt keine Zwischenschritte.

Was bedeutet Musik für dich?

Ich werde mich kurz fassen. Alles

Welche Musik hörst du privat?

Ich höre alle Arten von Rock, aber ich wäre nicht in der Musik, wenn ich nicht im Alter von 11 Jahren Künstler wie Marilyn Manson oder Trent Reznor kennengelernt hätte.

Gibt es musikalische Vorbilder?

Ich denke, Bowie und Alice Cooper haben genug getan, aber mehr als ein Vorbild versuche ich, verschiedene Dinge zu nehmen und sie persönlich zu machen

Fakten über dich

Ich bin süchtig nach Filmen; ich glaube, jeder Song ist von einem Kurzfilm oder einem Film in meinem Kopf inspiriert.

Was würdest du deinen Fans gerne noch sagen?

Nun, ich möchte mich einfach dafür bedanken, dass ihr das Projekt live unterstützt oder mir positive Kommentare zu meiner Musik gebt. Und denkt daran, Jungs und Mädels: Underbrain wurde mit drei perfekten Komponenten geschaffen: Wut, Leidenschaft und Hass. Nutzt dies aus.

Aktuelle Neuigkeiten / Konzerttermine / Infos

Ich habe gerade No One Will Save You veröffentlicht, eine EP unter dem amerikanischen Plattenlabel DSBP. Wir haben diese EP live und auf verschiedenen Online-Radiostationen auf der ganzen Welt beworben. Ende des Jahres möchte ich eine Single namens Gravity veröffentlichen, die eine vielseitigere Seite von Underbrain zeigen wird, ohne die Rohheit zu verlieren. Bleibt auf den sozialen Medien von Underbrain dran.

Introduce yourself briefly / band introduction

Underbrain starts in the middle of 2022 as a need to show music that is not very common really in Chile, and also as a response related to the chaos that we were experiencing as a country at that time.  

When and how did you come to music? 

I had done several industrial music projects in the past but no one of them as personal as Underbrain. 

Do you live from music full-time? If no, what is your profession?

No, I don’t. I work in the world of sales but if I would have the opportunity to be a full-time musician, be sure I wouldn’t miss the chance. 

How is a song created? First the melody, or first the lyrics?

In my case I begin with a melody that I have in my head at that moment, and according to those ideas I am expressing it musically. I can imagine a fictional scene or try to express an emotion 

What is your source of inspiration?

Emotions and feelings that may seem catastrophic or surreal. 

According to which criteria is the setlist put together?

It is elaborated under the criteria of a powerful show that has no breaks. For me, playing live is giving it your all. There is no intermediate.  

What does music mean to you?

I’m going to be short. Everything 

What music do you listen to privately?

I listen to all types of rock but I wouldn’t be in music if I hadn’t met artists like Marilyn Manson or Trent Reznor at the age of 11. 

Are there any musical role models?

I think Bowie and Alice Cooper have done enough but more than a role model I try to take different things and make it personal 

Facts about you

I’m addicted to movies; I think every song is inspired by some short film or movie inside my mind.

I just released No One Will Save You, an EP under the American record label DSBP. We have been promoting this EP live and rotating on different online radio stations around the world. At the end of the year, I intend to release a single called Gravity that will show a more versatile side of Underbrain without losing that rawness. Stay Tuned to Underbrain social media.
