Kurze Vorstellung

BLACKBOOK wurde von zwei etablierten Künstlern gegründet, von denen ein Teil des Duos für viele Radiohits sowie für den Titelsong einer erfolgreichen Netflix-Serie verantwortlich ist und der andere als Musiker mit Projekten beschäftigt ist, die die Spitze der Charts in Europa erobern. Ihre Einflüsse reichen von Indie-Pop, Elektropop, Jungle, Darkwave und EDM bis hin zu der weltweit gefeierten Band DEPECHE MODE, was ihrer Musik eine ganz besondere Note verleiht, die Lust auf mehr macht!

Wann und wie bist du zur Musik gekommen?

Mit vierzehn habe ich von meinem Vater eine Gitarre bekommen und sofort wieder aufgehört zu spielen, weil ich es zu schwierig fand. Mit sechzehn habe ich es nochmals versucht und dann hat es geklappt. Ich wollte damals alleine die Beatles sein. Nachdem ich mehrere Jahre als Strassenmusiker durch Europa gereist bin, habe ich mich in der Schweiz niedergelassen und verschiedene Bands gegründet. Irgendwann entstand daraus BLACKBOOK.

Wie entsteht ein Song? Erst die Melodie, oder erst der Text?

Bei BLACKBOOK geht das beides. Wir haben verschiedene Methoden, einen Song zu komponieren. Oft kommt uns auch einfach ein Satz in den Sinn, z.B. “People are fake”, und dann machen wir damit weiter, bis wir einen kompletten Song haben. Was bedeutet für dich Musik? Musik hält mich körperlich und geistig gesund und gibt mir die Möglichkeit, mich kreativ zu äussern und immer wieder ein kleines bischen die Welt zu ändern.

Fünf Fakten über dich:

-Die erste Single, die ich gekauft habe, war “Nothing Compares 2U” von Sinéad O’Connor. Ich habe sie immer noch.
-Ich bin ein Trekkie.
-Ich übe momentan jeden Tag eine halbe Stunde Ukelele.
-Ich spiele immer die Französische Öffnung.
-Ich bin offiziell sowohl Holländer als auch Schweizer.

BLACKBOOK was founded by two well established artists of whom one part of the duo is responsible for many radio hits as well as for the title song to a successful Netflix series and the other one keeps busy as a musician with projects that have been claiming the top of the charts in Europe. Their influences reach from indie pop, electropop, jungle, darkwave and EDM over to the worldwide celebrated band DEPECHE MODE which gives their music a very special flavour that will leave you wanting more!

When and how did you get into music?

When I was fourteen I got a guitar from my father and immediately stopped playing because I found it too difficult. At sixteen I tried again and then it worked. At that time I wanted to be the Beatles on my own. After traveling around Europe as a street musician for several years, I settled in Switzerland and formed several bands. At some point BLACKBOOK was born out of that.

How does a song come into being? First the melody, or first the lyrics?

With BLACKBOOK it goes both ways. We have different methods to compose a song. Often we just come up with a sentence, for example “People are fake”, and then we continue with it until we have a complete song. What does music mean to you? Music keeps me physically and mentally healthy and gives me the opportunity to express myself creatively and always change the world a little bit.

Five facts about you:

-The first single I bought was “Nothing Compares 2U” by Sinéad O’Connor. I still have it.
-I’m a Trekkie.
-I currently practice ukelele for half an hour every day.
-I always play the French opening.
-I am officially both Dutch and Swiss.
