Stelle dich kurz vor / Bandvorstellung

Ich bin Olli, Künstlername: asangrefria. Ich komme ursprünglich aus Hannover und lebe aber seit ca. 20 Jahren in Leipzig. Dort habe ich gegen Ende 2022, das Cyberindustrial Musikprojekt NecroFear gegründet.
Die Musikproduktion mache ich komplett alleine.
Mit der Zeit habe ich mir noch andere Bandkollegen gesucht, welche mir z.T auf der Bühne aber auch im Hintergrund, Organisation, Aufbau, Transport, Merch, Bilder/Videos wichtige Hilfe für NecroFear leisten.

Wann und wie bist du zur Musik gekommen?

Musik war mir stets sehr wichtig, schon als Kind. Damals hatte ich als Erstes eine kleine, elektronische Orgel und später ein Keyboard für Kinder als Spielzeug bekommen. Ich fing an, alle möglichen Melodien zum Spielen zu üben. Häufig damals bekannte Kinderlieder und später Songs, die ich aus dem Radio kannte. Depeche Mode, the Cure, Pet Shop Boys, Nena, die Ärzte. Ich hörte sehr viel Metal und wollte dann aber andere Musik machen. Die Musik gegen Ende der 80er, Anfang der 90er fand ich schon sehr geil und es war für mich wie ein Aufbruch, in eine neue, musikalische Zeit zwischen soften Popklängen und harten, monotonen Beats. Also irgendwie zwischen einstürzende Neubauten, Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly auf der einen Seite und n bissl später dann auf der anderen Seite so Sachen von Scooter und dieser ganzen Raveära. Dazwischen bekam ich mal Sachen von Projekt Pitchfork und vor allem von Wumpscut zu hören und dachte mir, das muss es sein. Meine Interessen an dieser Musik weiteten sich stark aus und so kam ich auf Industrial. Ich weiß noch, ich war total geflasht von dieser gesamten Art und habe Musik gehört von u.a. Esplendor Geometrico, Winterkälte, Haus Arafna, Deutsch Nepal, De Fabrik, Dive und dergleichen. Spätestens mit Suicide Commando, war klar WAS ich machen wollen würde und genau SO, ging es dann auch los bei mir. Allerdings hatte ich schon immer meinen eigenen Kopf. Mir war es eigentlich stets egal wenn mir jemand sagte, das gibt es schon und dies gab es schon, ich wollte immer genau DAS machen, worauf ich Bock hatte und mehr nicht.

Lebst du ihr von der Musik hauptberuflich? Wenn Nein, welchen Beruf übst du aus?

Ganz schlicht, nein. Ich arbeite in einem Pflegeberuf für mobile Pflege.

Wie entsteht ein Song? Erst die Melodie, oder erst der Text?

oh naja, es kommt eigentlich darauf an. Mal so, mal so, jenachdem, wie die Situation gerade so ist aber grundsätzlich, kommt beides vor.

Was ist deine Inspirationsquelle?

Hm, kurz gesagt, das Leben, da möchte ich jetzt nicht unbedingt ins Detail gehen.
Nur soviel, es reicht von Politik bis hin zu geilen Videospielen.

Nach welchen Kriterien wird die Setlist zusammengestellt?

Ganz unterschiedlich, je nachdem welche Songs ich gerade persönlich favorisiere. Da gucke ich natürlich schon n bissl darauf, was ich glaube, was gut ankam bei den Auftritten aber eigentlich, mache ich es eher intuitiv. Allerdings IMMER mit einem geilen, langen und düsteren Intro.

Was bedeutet für dich Musik?

Einfach ALLES. Musik ist alles was ich habe, wenn ich gar nichts habe. Ich kann mich in Musik vollkommen verlieren und Musik reflektiert häufig meine Gefühle. Musik begleitet mich schon mein ganzes Leben bisher und ich kann mir auch keine Welt, kein Leben ohne Musik vorstellen. In guten und häufig in schlechten Zeiten, war und ist Musik mein stetiger Wegbegleiter

Welche Musik hörst du privat?

Alles Mögliche, mein persönlicher Musikgeschmack ist sehr breit gefächert. Vor allem aus elektronischer Klangerzeugung. Ich mag es musikalisch eher hart, brachial, monoton, düster un dgerne mal romantisch, melancholisch.

Gibt es musikalische Vorbilder?

Gibt es.

Introduce yourself / Band introduction

I am Olli, stage name: asangrefria. I’m originally from Hanover but have been living in Leipzig for about 20 years. There I founded the cyberindustrial music project NecroFear towards the end of 2022.

Initially, I looked for people in Leipzig and via social media who wanted to take part, especially dancers.

I do the music production completely on my own, but I wanted to work with people who are willing and able to perform the music publicly on stage and interact with the fans. It’s more fun together and that’s what it’s all about for me. In Leipzig, I then met my current bandmate and dancer Lunara Wolf and my bandmate and also dancer GreenDragon.

The three of us together currently form NecroFear.
Over time, I’ve found other bandmates, some of whom help me on stage, but also in the background with organization, set-up, transport, merch, pictures/videos.

When and how did you get into music?

Music has always been very important to me, even as a child. Back then, the first thing I got as a toy was a small electronic organ and later a keyboard for children. I started practicing all kinds of melodies to play. Often well-known children’s songs at the time and later songs that I knew from the radio. Depeche Mode, the Cure, Pet Shop Boys, Nena, Die Ärzte. I listened to a lot of metal and then wanted to make other music. I thought the music at the end of the 80s and beginning of the 90s was really cool and for me it was like a departure into a new musical era between soft pop sounds and hard, monotonous beats. Somehow between Einstürzende Neubauten, Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly on the one hand and a bit later on the other hand stuff by Scooter and this whole rave era. In between, I got to hear stuff by Projekt Pitchfork and especially Wumpscut and thought to myself, that must be it. My interests in this music expanded greatly and that’s how I got into industrial. I remember being totally blown away by this whole style and listening to music by Esplendor Geometrico, Winterkälte, Haus Arafna, Deutsch Nepal, De Fabrik, Dive and the like. At the latest with Suicide Commando, it was clear WHAT I wanted to do and that’s exactly how it started for me. However, I’ve always had a mind of my own. I didn’t really care if someone told me that this already existed and that already existed, I always wanted to do exactly WHAT I wanted to do and nothing more

Do you live from music full-time? If no, what profession do you have?

Quite simply, no. I work in a care profession for mobile care.

How is a song created? First the melody, or first the lyrics?

oh well, it really depends. Sometimes like this, sometimes like that, depending on the situation, but basically, it happens both ways.

What is your source of inspiration?

Hm, in short, life, I don’t really want to go into detail right now.
Just this much, it ranges from politics to cool video games.Green Dragon: the music itself, it has to be upbeat, with bass and melody. That’s the only way I can dance well. It shouldn’t be too fast or too slow, it should have a middle ground.

What criteria are used to put together the setlist?

Very different, depending on which songs I personally favor. Of course I look a bit at what I think went down well at the gigs, but I actually do it more intuitively. But ALWAYS with a cool, long and dark intro.

What does music mean to you?

Simply EVERYTHING. Music is all I have when I have nothing. I can completely lose myself in music and music often reflects my feelings. Music has accompanied me my whole life so far and I can’t imagine a world, a life without music. In good times and often in bad times, music was and is my constant companion

What music do you listen to in your private life?

All sorts of things, my personal taste in music is very broad. Mainly electronic sounds. I like it musically rather hard, brute, monotonous, dark and sometimes romantic, melancholic.

Do you have any musical role models?

There are.
