Stelle dich kurz vor / Bandvorstellung
Hi, Ich bin Tobi, einer der Gitarristen von Heldmaschine. Wir sind eine deutsche Band und es gibt uns seit 2011. Es ist schwer unsere Musik in eine Schublade zu stecken. Wenn man es doch versuchen würde, würde vielleicht draufstehen: NDH/Metal/Alternative/ lieben elektronische Instrumente und harte Gitarren. Am besten checkt ihr uns auf den einschlägigen Portalen selber aus – wenn ihr uns nicht eh schon kennt 😉 Auf YouTube gibt es grade zwei neue Videos von uns zu sehen. „Sucht” und “Hast du Angst”. Am 29.09.23 veröffentlichen wir unser sechstes Album „Flächenbrand”
Wann und wie bist du zur Musik gekommen?
Ich schätze ich war so um die 10 Jahre alt als ich zum ersten Mal irgendwo im Radio eine elektrische Gitarre gehört hab. Ich glaube der Song war damals One Vision von Queen. Ich war sofort völlig fasziniert vom Klang dieses Instruments und wußte sofort: „ Das will ich auch!“
Ein paar Jahre später hab ich dann meine erste eigene Gitarre besessen, hab meine erste Band gegründet und mir war schnell klar, dass die Musik eine große Rolle in meinem Leben spielen würde.
Wie entsteht ein Song? Erst die Melodie, oder erst der Text?
Mal so mal so. Songs können bei uns ganz unterschiedlich entstehen. Mal ist es eine Textzeile, die einem spontan in den Sinn kommt, mal recherchiert man zu einem Thema, dass einem am Herzen liegt. Mal entwickelt man einen Song allein, mal im Dialog. Mal ist zuerst die Musik da, mal ein Groove der einen inspiriert. Mal ist es ein harter Kampf und manchmal geht es ganz leicht. Mit der Idee zu unserem Song „R“ ist unser Sänger René z.B. eines Morgens aufgewacht, ist ab ins Studio und hatte ihn 2 Std. später im Kasten. Im besten Falle sind Text und Musik/Melodie gleichzeitig da, denn die Musik soll ja den Text transportieren.
Was bedeutet für dich Musik?
Musik ist für mich ein Schlüssel zur Seele, hat also die Fähigkeit eine Direktverbindung zur Gefühlswelt herzustellen. Sie kann fröhlich, traurig, wütend, mutig machen, kann also Gefühle, erzeugen und ist manchmal ein Ventil. Sie ist eine Sprache die auch ohne Worte funktioniert und Menschen verbinden kann. Musik hat die Fähigkeit einen in andere Welten mitzunehmen. („Der Alltag liegt komplett auf Eis – Die Maschine spricht)

Introduce yourself / Band introduction
Hi, I’m Tobi, one of the guitarists of Heldmaschine. We are a German band and we have been around since 2011. It’s hard to pigeonhole our music. If you did try, maybe it would say: NDH/Metal/Alternative/ love electronic instruments and hard guitars. The best thing is to check us out on the relevant portals – if you don’t know us already 😉 On YouTube you can see two new videos of us. “Sucht” and “Hast du Angst”. On 29.09.23 we will release our sixth album “Flächenbrand”.
When and how did you get into music?
I guess I was around 10 years old when I heard an electric guitar somewhere on the radio for the first time. I think the song was One Vision by Queen. I was immediately fascinated by the sound of this instrument and knew immediately: “I want that too!
A few years later I owned my first guitar, started my first band and it was clear to me that music would play a big role in my life.
How does a song come into being? First the melody, or first the lyrics?
Sometimes this way, sometimes that. Songs can originate quite differently with us. Sometimes it’s a line of text that spontaneously comes to mind, sometimes we research a topic that is close to our hearts. Sometimes we develop a song alone, sometimes in dialogue. Sometimes it’s the music first, sometimes it’s a groove that inspires you. Sometimes it’s a hard struggle and sometimes it’s easy. For example, our singer René woke up one morning with the idea for our song “R”, went to the studio and had it in the can 2 hours later. In the best case lyrics and music/melody are there at the same time, because the music should transport the lyrics.
What does music mean to you?
Music is for me a key to the soul, has the ability to create a direct connection to the emotional world. It can make you happy, sad, angry, brave, it can create feelings and is sometimes an outlet. It is a language that works without words and can connect people. Music has the ability to take you into other worlds. (“Everyday life is completely on ice – The machine speaks)
