Motel Transylvania ist eine Industrial-Metal-Band, eine Mischung aus Klängen und Geräuschen, die aus dem Hintergrund jedes einzelnen Mitglieds und des Projekts selbst stammen

Lebt ihr hauptberuflich von der Musik? Wenn nein, was ist euer Beruf?

Nur von der Musik zu leben, wäre für eine Newcomer-Band wie uns unmöglich, die Musik ist natürlich ein großer Teil meines Jobs zusammen mit meinem anderen Beruf in der Logistikwelt

Was ist eure Inspirationsquelle?

Ich nehme viel Inspiration aus dem täglichen Leben und den Empfindungen, die ich in bestimmten inneren Situationen erlebe, sicherlich sind der nächtliche Kontext und die langen Reisen großartige Partner für meinen kreativen Prozess

Nach welchen Kriterien wird die Setlist zusammengestellt?

Es ist eine Reise der Gefühle, erzählt durch Musik und Worte. Jeder Song ist ein Crescendo von Empfindungen, die so tief sind, wie sie sich abmühen: “Wir fliegen so hoch wie wir fallen”

Welche Musik hörst du privat?

Nun, ich habe einen großen Fetisch für das Geschichtenerzählen. Wie Tom Waits zu sagen pflegte: “Ich liebe schöne Melodien, die mir schreckliche Dinge erzählen”.
Ich kann kein bestimmtes Genre oder einen bestimmten Künstler nennen, ich höre täglich Musik von Johnny Cash bis Sleep Token, von Project Pitchfork bis System of a Down.

Gibt es musikalische Vorbilder?

Das einzige Vorbild, das wir haben, ist die Energie, die andere Künstler auf uns übertragen, wenn wir die Bühne und das Leben miteinander teilen

Erzählt mir etwas über das neue Album, warum Generation Lost? was ist die Botschaft, die ihr vermitteln wollt?

Generation Lost ist ein mentaler Zustand, der durch den räumlichen Kontext, mit dem er verbunden ist, über die Zeit hinausgeht.
Generation Lost ist ein innerer Weg, auf dem man sich selbst begegnet und dem, was im tiefsten, intimsten und gequältesten Teil seines Wesens liegt.
Es ist eine Reise, die aus Leidenschaft, Lust, Wut und Bewusstsein besteht.

Introduce yourself briefly / band introduction

Motel Transylvania is an industrial metal band, a chimera of sounds and noises which come from the background of each single member and of the project itself

Do you live from music full-time? If no, what is your profession?

Living just doing music would be impossible for a newcomer band like ours, music is of course a big part of my job together with my other profession in the logistic world

What is your source of inspiration?

I take a lot of inspiration from the daily life and the sensations I live in certain inner situations, surely the nocturnal context and the long trips are great partners for my creative process

According to which criteria is the setlist put together?

It’s a journey of feelings told through music and words. Every song is a crescendo of sensations as deep as they are struggling: “we fly as high as we fall”

What music do you listen to privately?

Well, I have a big fetish for storytelling. As Tom Waits used to say: “I love beautiful melodies telling me terrible things”.
I cannot name a single genre or artist, my daily listens go from Johnny Cash to Sleep Token, from Project Pitchfork to System of a Down

Are there any musical role models?

The only model we have is the energy that other artists transmit to us when we share the stage and life situations together

Tell me about the new comming album, why generation lost? what is the message, do you want to tell?

Generation Lost is a mental condition which goes beyond time due to the spatial context to which is associated.
Generation Lost is an inner path in which you face yourself and what lies in the deepest, most intimate and tormented part of your being.
It is a journey made of passion, lust, anger and conciousness.
