Hallo zusammen und danke für diesen Raum. Ich bin Toxi, die Stimme der italienischen Industrial-Band Motel Transylvania.

Wann und wie seid ihr zur Musik gekommen?

Unsere Reise begann 2014 mit einem völlig anderen Sound, unsere Wurzeln kommen aus dem Goth’n’Roll und das kann man immer noch in der Wahl einiger Melodien finden. Wir haben die Aufnahmen für das neue Album “Generation Lost” abgeschlossen. Der Titeltrack und die erste Single dieses neuen Konzepts wurde vor einem Monat veröffentlicht und am 3. April werden wir die zweite Single mit dem Titel “Taste of you” herausbringen.

Wie entsteht ein Song? Erst die Melodie, dann der Text?

Unsere Musik entsteht immer auf eine sehr natürliche Art und Weise. Der erste grundlegende Punkt ist, dass es etwas sein muss, das die Persönlichkeit jedes einzelnen Bandmitglieds widerspiegelt. Meistens bringt Fish (Bassist) eine klar definierte Linie mit, die dann mit den Gitarren von Taison und der Rhythmusgruppe von Leo verschönert wird, bis in jeder Passage des Songs eine spürbare Synergie entsteht. Der Text ist das Letzte, was kommt. Ich schreibe viel und in jeder Situation mache ich mir Notizen, nehme Ideen auf meinem Handy auf, aber meistens fühle ich mich nicht ganz zufrieden, ich muss die Stücke leben, sie in mich hineinfühlen, sie mir tonnenweise vorspielen, um den richtigen Weg zu finden, Konzepte und Empfindungen auszudrücken. Die Worte müssen zum Beat passen, und ich wäge jedes einzelne Stück dutzende Male ab, bevor ich es zu Papier bringe. Ich möchte nichts als selbstverständlich ansehen, jedes Wort, jeder Klang muss ein unfassbarer Wegweiser für eine innere, körperliche, emotionale und leidenschaftliche Reise sein.

Was bedeutet Musik für euch?

Wir leben unsere Musik, und Musik im Allgemeinen, als eine reine und tiefe emotionale Beteiligung. Ein Gipfeltreffen der Leidenschaft und der gegensätzlichen Emotionen. Es ist eine Art, uns auszudrücken, die beste, die wir haben, diejenige, die wir gewählt haben… oder einfach die einzige.

-Wir lieben es, zu reisen und die Mauer zwischen uns und unserem Publikum zu durchbrechen. Das hat es uns ermöglicht, im Laufe der Jahre eine echte Familie zu bilden, die aus unglaublichen Menschen und Realitäten besteht.
-Außerhalb des musikalischen Kontextes nehmen wir uns nicht gerne zu ernst.
-Wir streiten viel, wir haben unterschiedliche Lebensweisen, aber dieses Projekt könnte NIE so besonders sein, wenn nur einer von uns fehlen würde.
-Wir sind wahrscheinlich eine der Lieblingsbands von einigen unserer Hater-Freundinnen
-Ich liebe Ingwertee.

Introduce yourself briefly

Hello everyone and thanks for this space. I’m Toxi, voice of the Italian industrial band Motel Transylvania.

When and how did you get into music?

Our journey started in 2014 with a completely different sound, our roots come from goth’n’roll and this can still be found in the choice of some melodies. We have finished the recordings of the new album “Generation Lost”. The title track and first single of this new concept was released one month ago and on April 3rd we will be out with the second single titled “Taste of you”.

How is a song created? First the melody, then the lyrics?

Our music is always created in a very natural way. The first fundamental point is that it must be something that fully reflects the personality of each member of the band. Most of the time Fish (bassist) brings a well-defined line to work on, all of which is then embellished with Taison’s guitars and Leo’s rhythm section until you reach a perceptible synergy in every passage of the song. The lyrics are the last thing to arrive. I write a lot and in every situation, I take notes, pre-record ideas on my phone, but most of the time I don’t feel fully satisfied I have to live the tracks, feel them mine, play them in my ears tons of times to find the right way to express concepts and sensations. The words have to bounce to the beat and I weigh each of them dozens of times before putting it on paper. I don’t want to take anything for granted, every word, every sound must be an impalpable guide for an inner, physical, emotional and passionate journey.

What does music mean to you?

We live our music, and music in general, as a pure and deep emotional involvement. A summit of passion and contrasting emotions. it’s a way of expressing ourselves, the best we have, the one we’ve chosen… or simply the only one.

-We love traveling and breaking the wall between our audience and us, this has allowed us over the years to create a real family made up of incredible people and realities.
-Out of the musical context we don’t like to take ourselves too seriously.
-We fight alot, we have different ways of living, but this project could NEVER be so special if just one of us was missing.
-We’re probably one of the favorite band of some of our hater’s girlfriend
-I love ginger tea.
