Hallo, hier sind Signo Slichtnacht (M 33) und Rex Core (M 35)
Signo kommt aus Ecatepec, Mexiko und Rex aus Buenos Aires, Argentinien
Wir sind Slichtnacht, gegründet von Signo Mitte 2021, ein lateinamerikanisches Dark Electro, Aggrotech,
Industrial-Projekt, wir haben eine Reihe von Singles, wir sind bei Insane Records unter Vertrag und derzeit bei Acid Bath Records. Rex Core stieß Ende 2023 zu dem Projekt.

Wir fangen die Songs selbst an und er schickt sie mir, damit ich sie abändern, texten und
mischen. Wir werden die folgenden Veröffentlichungen nach “Gehasster” praktisch in Co-Produktion machen.

Wann und wie bist du zur Musik gekommen?

Signo: Ich habe im Alter von 13 Jahren als Gitarrist in verschiedenen Punk-, Metal- und Industrial-Bands mit lokaler Anerkennung angefangen.
Punk-, Metal- und Industrial-Bands mit lokaler Anerkennung. Mit 19 habe ich aufgehört zu spielen, weil ich anfing Halluzinationen, Schlaflosigkeit und auch, um mich auf mein Studium zu konzentrieren. Aber ich konnte nicht aufhören Musik zu machen, und im Mai 2010 begann ich, Musikproduktion zu lernen. Jahre später schuf ich einige gescheiterte EBM- und Industrial-Projekte.
Es dauerte bis 2020, bis ich dank der Pandemie meinen Job verlor. Aber ich hatte etwas Geld gespart, und ich hatte die Grundlagen, um mich vorübergehend auf Musik zu konzentrieren, bis ich im Mai 2021 Slichtnacht gründete und die erste EP “Desolado” veröffentlichte.
Rex: als ich 22 war, habe ich angefangen zu produzieren und gleichzeitig aufzulegen.
In diesen Jahren mischte ich Hardstyle, Elektro-Industrial und Harddance, ich habe eine selbst veröffentlichte EP namens “Enemigos” herausgebracht, die einen Remix von Valium Era, dann habe ich nur noch Remixe und Singles gemacht, unter anderem für Signo Slichtnacht.
Im Jahr 2021 nahm ich eine Zusammenarbeit mit Exemia für eine Compilation von Gothic World auf.

Lebest du hauptberuflich von der Musik? Wenn nein, was ist dein Beruf?

Signo: Ich bin ein Full-Stack-Entwickler; jetzt bin ich freiberuflich tätig, und Mixer für andere Projekte
Rex: Ich bin Schweißer und Disc Jockey

Wie entsteht ein Song? Zuerst die Melodie, oder zuerst der Text?

Signo: Normalerweise fange ich mit dem Hauptloop an (manchmal der Höhepunkt, manchmal der Aufbau), dann mache ich, basierend auf dem Hauptloop, 2 oder 3 Variationen, die ich zusammensetze und mit einem “Mikroarrangement” versehe. Für mich ist es schwer, Texte zu schreiben, also kommt der Gesang erst einige Tage oder Wochen nach der Fertigstellung des Songs.

Woher nimmst du deine Inspiration?

Signo: Ich lese viel und variiere die Themen. Manchmal interessiere ich mich für ein Thema und mache eine Menge Konzepte, um eine EP oder Singles zu machen; normalerweise sind es mentale Themen, Selbstbeobachtung oder fiktive Charaktere.

Rex: Meine Inspiration sind Cyberpunk-Filme (Zeichentrick und Live-Action), historische Ereignisse von Kriegen bis hin zu Internetviren, aber ich versuche immer, sie gewalttätiger und düsterer zu gestalten. Ich habe angefangen, Themen aus Videospielen, Horrorfilmen und Animationsfilmen zu verwenden, obwohl ich mich eine Zeit lang mehr auf Science-Fiction-Filme konzentriert habe.

Nach welchen Kriterien wird die Setlist (Playlist) zusammengestellt?

Signo: Zuerst mache ich eine Menge Tracks und wähle diejenigen aus, die mich etwas fühlen lassen, dann sortiere ich sie so, dass sie einen erzählerischen Sinn ergeben (ja, alle EPs und Alben sind konzeptionell)

Was bedeutet Musik für dich?

Signo: Musik zu hören und zu machen ist für mich eine Flucht und ein Schutz für mein normales Leben.
Rex: Musik ist der Motor meines Lebens, sie begleitet mich überall, bei der Arbeit und sogar im Club, wenn ich als DJ arbeite, sie ist die perfekte Abkopplung von der Realität, ich brauche nicht mehr als Musik.

Welche Musik hörst du privat?

Signo: Jazz, Techno, Videospiele OST, Klassik, Hard Trance und natürlich Industrial und Dark Electro
Rex: Aggrotech, Electro Industrial, Tech House, Metal.

Fünf Fakten über dich

Signo:

• Ich bin introvertiert und ruhig, daher unterhalte ich mich selten mit Freunden und manchmal ist das ein Problem
• In den Anfängen von Slichtnacht habe ich jeden Monat Singles veröffentlicht, manchmal habe ich sie 1 Woche vor der Veröffentlichung gemacht, manchmal einen Tag vorher, also ist die Qualität dieser Singles ziemlich schlecht
• Die meisten meiner Hörer kamen aus Russland, und als der Krieg begann, löschte mein Aggregator (das Unternehmen, das Musik auf den Plattformen veröffentlicht) meine Musik von den russischen Diensten (VK Music, Yandex Music), und auch Spotify verließ das Land. Mein Musikkonsum ging um 80 % zurück. Aber dank der Piraterie sind ein großer Teil meiner Hörer immer noch Russen.
• Ich habe mehrmals darüber nachgedacht, mit dem Musikmachen aufzuhören, aber das Musikmachen ist das Einzige, was mich in den letzten Jahren erfüllt hat.
• Als ich Slichtnacht gründete, plante ich, in der Szene meines Landes und später in Lateinamerika bekannt zu werden. Das ist jedoch nie passiert, und meine Musik wurde von Anfang an in Europa besser aufgenommen. Obwohl ich versucht habe, mich meiner lokalen Szene anzunähern, hat sich nie eine Gelegenheit ergeben.

• Ich liebe die Ruhe und den Raum, um Musik zu genießen und immer wieder neue Genres zu entdecken.
• Ich fange an, als Electro Industrial und EBM DJ zu arbeiten, und dann erweitere ich mich, um alle Arten von Musik zu mischen, von Underground bis Urban und Mainstream.
• Ein paar Mal habe ich die Musikproduktion hinter mir gelassen, weil ich das Gefühl hatte, dass sie mir keine Freude bereitet, aber dank Signo mache ich weiterhin Beats und Sounds.
• Ich bin so dankbar für die Freunde, die mich mit der Musik bekannt gemacht haben, die ich jetzt mag, und für die, die meine Songs geteilt, aufgelistet und Videos gemacht haben, in denen sie zum Cyberdance tanzen.
• Ich bin in die Electro-Industrial-Welt eingetreten, als ich die Videos von Cybrax (aus Deutschland) gesehen habe. Dann habe ich meinen YouTube-Kanal eingerichtet und Videos von mir hochgeladen, in denen ich im CyberGoth-Outfit tanze, dann hat Cybrax einen Track für meine EP aufgenommen, dann hat mein Lieblingskünstler Exemia (aus Mexiko) mit mir zusammengearbeitet, und jetzt, dank der Motivation und der Produktionslektionen meines Freundes Signo, bin ich begierig darauf, in der Musik noch einmal weiterzukommen.

Was möchtet ihr euren Fans noch sagen?

Introduce yourself briefly / band introduction

Hi, this is Signo Slichtnacht (M 33) and Rex Core (M 35) Signo is from Ecatepec, Mexico and Rex is from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
We are Slichtnacht, funded by Signo in mid 2021, a Latin-American Dark Electro, Aggrotech, industrial project, we have a bunch of singles, we’ve signed by Insane Records and currently Acid Bath Records. Rex Core joined to the project in late 2023.
Signo: Until now, I am the producer, singer and mixer, with Rex will be different: We will start the songs by himself and he will send them to me and make some modifications, lyrics and mixing. We are practically going to co-produce the following releases after “Gehasster”

When and how did you come to music?

Signo: I started at the age of 13 as a guitarist in several punk, metal and industrial bands with local recognition, I stopped playing at the age of 19 because I started having auditory hallucinations, insomnia and also to focus on my studies. However, I couldn’t stop making music and it was in May 2010 that I started learning music production and a couple of years later I created some failed EBM and Industrial projects. It was until 2020, thanks to the pandemic, I lost my job, but I had saved some money, and I had
the basics to temporarily focus on music, until in May 2021 I formed Slichtnacht and released
the first EP “Desolado”.
Rex: when I was 22, I started producing and DJing at once, those years I mix hardstyle, electro industrial and hard dance, I released a self-released EP called “Enemigos” that included a remix by Valium Era, then I just made remixes and singles, among them for Signo Slichtnacht.
In 2021, I made a collaboration with Exemia for a compilation by Gothic World.

Do you live from music full-time? If no, what is your profession?

Signo: I’m a Full stack developer; now I’m freelancing, and mixer for another projects
Rex: I’m welder and Disc Jockey

How is a song created? First the melody, or first the lyrics?

Signo: Normally I start with the main loop (sometimes the climax, sometimes the build up), then based in the main loop, I make 2 or 3 variations, I put together and I apply some “micro arrangement”. For me, it’s hard to write lyrics, so vocals come several days or weeks after the song is done.

What is your source of inspiration?

Signo: I read a lot and variate topics. Sometimes I get interested in a topic and make a lot of concepts to make an EP or Singles; normally mental issues, introspection or fictional characters

Rex: My inspiration are cyberpunk movies (animated and live-action), historical events from wars to internet viral, but I always try to turn them more violent and dark. I started using video games themes, horror movies and animation, although I had a time focus more in sci-fi movies

According to which criteria is the setlist (playlist) put together?

Signo: Firstly I make a lot of tracks and I chose those that makes me feel something, then I sort them to make a narrative sense (yeah, all EPs and albums are conceptual)

What does music mean to you?

Signo: Listen and make music for me, it’s an escape and a shelter for my normal life
Rex: Music is the engine of my life, it accompanies me everywhere, in the work and even in the club when I work as DJ, is the perfect disconnection of reality, I need no more than music.

What music do you listen to privately?

Signo: Jazz, Techno, Video games OST, Classical, Hard Trance and obviously Industrial and Dark Electro
Rex: Aggrotech, electro industrial, tech house, metal.

Five facts about you

Signo:

1. I’m introvert and quiet, so I rarely chat with friends and sometimes it is a problem
2. In the beginning of Slichtnacht, I released singles every month, sometimes I made them 1 week before the release, sometimes the day before, so the quality of those singles is quite bad
3. Most of my listeners were from Russia, so when the war started, my aggregator (the company for publishing music on the platforms) deleted my music from Russian services (VK Music, Yandex Music) along with Spotify leaving that country. My listening dropped 80%. However, thanks to piracy, a large part of my listeners are still Russians.
4. Several times I have thought about stopping making music, but making music is the only thing that fulfills me in recent years.
5. When I founded Slichtnacht, I planned to gain notoriety on the scene in my country and later in Latin America. However, that never happened and my music was better received in Europe from the first months, although I have tried to get closer to my local scene, there has never been an opportunity

Rex:

1. I love tranquility and space to enjoy listen to music and discover more genres often.

2. I start to work as Electro Industrial and EBM DJ, and then I expand to mix all type of music from underground to Urban and Mainstream.
3. A bunch of times I’ve left behind music production because I felt it didn’t bring me some pleasure, but thanks to Signo, I am keeping to make beats and sounds
4. I’m so grateful with pals that introduced me to the music I’m currently like, and those who shared, listed and made videos of cyberdance dancing my songs
5. I entered to the electro industrial world watching Cybrax’s videos (from Germany). Then I made my YouTube channel and uploaded videos of my dancing with CyberGoth outfit, then Cybrax a track for my EP, then my favorite artist Exemia (from Mexico) made a collaboration with me, now thanks to the motivation and production teachings from my friend Signo, I’m eager to progress in music one more time.

What else would you like to tell your fans?
