Hey! Mein Name ist Marty, ich bin 46 Jahre alt. Ich habe 22 Jahre in Berlin gewohnt und bin vor knapp 18 Monaten wieder zurück ins Brandenburger Land gezogen. Ich bin Sänger, Text- und Songschreiber bei Pseudokrupp Project.

Wann bist Du zur Musik gekommen?

Musik mache ich schon seit Mitte der 90iger Jahre. Ich habe mit 2 Freunden damals, inspiriert durch Bands wie Bigod20, Front 242 oder auch Project Pitchfork, angefangen elektronische Musik zu machen. Weiter ging es als Keyboarder in einem Industrial Projekt und dann mit einem Freund aus der Berufsschule wieder in einem EBM Projekt namens Psychomatic. Anfang der 2000er fing ich an, eigene Sachen zu machen, woraus später Pseudokrupp Project entstand. Von 2004 bis 2008 habe ich, beruflich bedingt, überhaupt nichts gemacht. 2006 spielte ich mit den alten Sachen mein erstes Konzert, auf Anfrage eines Freundes, mit Angstfabrikk, E-Thik und Mortal Void im K17 Berlin. Damals merkte ich schon, wie sehr mir die Musik fehlte und 2008 ging es dann wie gesagt wieder los. 2009 folgte mein erstes öffentliches Album „2009 vor unserer Zeit“ über CODELINE RECORDS.

Wie entsteht ein Song? Erst die Melodie oder erst der Text?

Das ist tatsächlich unterschiedlich. Es gibt Tage, an denen ich ohne Textideen im Studio sitze und einfach anfange Tracks zu komponieren. Solche Songs liegen wohl bei jedem der Musik macht auf der Festplatte Irgendwann hört man solche Sachen durch und denkt sich, da könnte doch der, oder der Text passen. Manchmal schraubt man dann wieder etwas rum und es entsteht nen cooler Song der es dann auch auf’s Album schafft.

Meistens ist es bei mir aber so, dass der Text vorher steht. Wenn ich einen Text schreibe, sind ja schon Emotionen im Spiel. Ich weiß, ob der Song ruhig oder schnell, ob er aggressiv oder einfach nur tanzbar sein sollte. Also kurz gesagt, steht bei mir meistens erst der Text und die Musik entsteht dann quasi drum herum.

Was bedeutet für Dich Musik?

Musik hat für mich eine sehr große Bedeutung! Ich höre sehr viel Musik aus allen möglichen Richtungen und mache selbst schon lange Musik. Musik begleitet dich durch dein ganzes Leben, schafft Erinnerungen und hilft dir durch schwere Zeiten. Wenn ich selbst Musik mache, ist das für mich Therapie. Ich verarbeite meine Gedanken, meine schönen Erinnerungen, aber auch meine Sorgen und Ängste in meinen Texten. Wer sich mit meinen Texten beschäftigt, wird merken wie

persönlich sie sind und auch ein Stück, was ich für ein Mensch bin. Die Konzerte, die wir spielen sind zusätzlich das beste Antiaggressionstraining das es geben kann

Ich bin unheimlich dankbar, dass es Menschen gibt, die uns immer wieder hinterher reisen, unsere Konzerte besuchen und unser Merch tragen. Da ich ein sehr bescheidener Mensch bin, berührt mich sowas immer total. Deshalb sind unsere Fans mir auch unglaublich wichtig! Ich denke, nichts ist schöner als seine Musik mit Menschen teilen zu dürfen und nichts berührt mich mehr, als Leute, die auf Konzerten meine Texte mitsingen! DANKE!!!

Ansonsten freue ich mich, Euch 2023 ein neues Album, das wieder wie sein Vorgänger über INFACTED RECORDINGS veröffentlicht wird, zu präsentieren. Es ist für mich das persönlichste und ehrlichste Album, das ich bisher gemacht habe. Wir sind grad an der Planung der Konzerte für dieses Jahr und Tina, unsere neue Bookerin, ist eifrig dabei uns nach der Coronazeit und der anfänglichen Zurückhaltung wieder aus dem Schatten ins Licht zu führen!

Introduce yourself briefly!

My name is Marty, I am 46 years old. I lived in Berlin for 22 years and moved back to Brandenburg almost 18 months ago. I’m a singer, lyricist and songwriter for Pseudokrupp Project.

When did you get into music?

I’ve been making music since the mid-90s. I started making electronic music with 2 friends, inspired by bands like Bigod20, Front 242 or Project Pitchfork. I continued as a keyboard player in an industrial project and then again with a friend from vocational school in an EBM project called Psychomatic. At the beginning of the 2000s I started making my own stuff, which later turned into Pseudokrupp Project. From 2004 to 2008, due to my job, I didn’t do anything at all. In 2006 I played my first concert with the old stuff, on request of a friend, with Angstfabrikk, E-Thik and Mortal Void at K17 Berlin. At that time I already noticed how much I missed the music and in 2008, as I said, it started again. In 2009 my first public album “2009 before our time” followed via CODELINE RECORDS.

How does a song come into being? First the melody or first the lyrics?

That is actually different. There are days when I sit in the studio without any lyric ideas and just start composing tracks. Such songs are probably on the hard drive of everyone who makes music. At some point you listen to such things and think to yourself, there could be the, or the lyrics fit. Sometimes you screw around a little bit and you get a cool song that makes it onto the album.But most of the time it’s like this with me, that the lyrics are written before. When I write a lyric, there are already emotions involved. I know if the song should be calm or fast, if it should be aggressive or just danceable. So in short, I usually have the lyrics first and then the music develops around it, so to speak.

What does music mean to you?

Music has a very big meaning for me! I listen to a lot of music from all possible directions and have been making music myself for a long time. Music accompanies you through your whole life, creates memories and helps you through hard times. When I make music myself, it’s therapy for me. I process my thoughts, my beautiful memories, but also my worries and fears in my lyrics. Whoever deals with my lyrics will notice howpersonal they are and also a piece, what kind of person I am. The concerts we play are additionally the best anti-aggression training there can be.

What else would you like to say to your fans?

There is so much 😉I’m incredibly grateful that there are people who travel after us again and again, visit our concerts and wear our merch. Since I’m a very humble person, something like that always touches me totally. That’s why our fans are incredibly important to me! I think nothing is more beautiful than being able to share your music with people and nothing touches me more than people singing along to my lyrics at concerts! THANK YOU!!!Apart from that, I’m looking forward to present you a new album in 2023, which will again be released via INFACTED RECORDINGS like its predecessor. It is for me the most personal and honest album I have made so far.
