Ich bin Timo Revna, 29 Jahre jung und wohne im wunderschönen Frankfurt am Main

Wann und wie bist du zur Musik gekommen?

Ich durfte bereits in meiner Kindheit Klavierstunden nehmen, insgesamt habe ich über 10 Jahre lang Klavier gespielt. Dazu kam ein musikalischer Schwerpunkt in der weiterführenden Schule, im Zuge dessen ich bis zu meinem Schulabschluss weitere 9 Jahre Alt- und Bariton-Saxophon in mehreren Schulorchestern gespielt habe. In meiner Jugend habe ich zusätzlich ein paar Jahre E-Gitarre gespielt. Nach der Schulzeit wollte ich unbedingt weiter Musik machen und fand meine neue Heimat in der elektronischen Musikproduktion.

Wie entsteht ein Song? Erst die Melodie, dann der Text?

Bis vor einigen Monaten war meine Vorgehensweise in den vergangenen 11 Jahren immer dieselbe: erst der Beat, dann die Lyrik. Nachdem ich vor ca. 2 Monaten nach einer kleinen Kreativpause mit neuen Songs begonnen habe, bin ich erstmalig aus einer Laune heraus den umgekehrten Weg gegangen. Auf diese Weise hatten sich nun schon drei fertige Songtexte angesammelt, zu denen ich im Anschluss die Beats und Melodien produziert habe. Eine völlig neue Erfahrung, mit der ich mich aktuell sehr wohl fühle.

1. Ich stehe auch an freien Tagen früher auf, da ich morgens/vormittags am produktivsten bin

Introduce yourself briefly

I am Timo Revna, 29 years young and I live in the beautiful city of Frankfurt am Main.

When and how did you get into music?

I was allowed to take piano lessons already in my childhood, in total I played the piano for more than 10 years. In addition, I focused on music in secondary school, playing alto and baritone saxophone in several school orchestras for another 9 years until I graduated. In my youth, I also played electric guitar for a few years. After school I was determined to continue making music and found my new home in electronic music production.

How does a song come into being? First the melody, then the lyrics?

Until a few months ago, my approach has always been the same for the past 11 years: first the beat, then the lyrics. After I started writing new songs about 2 months ago after a little creative break, I went the opposite way for the first time on a whim. In this way, I had now already accumulated three finished song lyrics, to which I subsequently produced the beats and melodies. A completely new experience that I currently feel very comfortable with.

1. i get up earlier even on days off, because i am most productive in the mornings
2. i have finally been doing sports continuously for a couple of years now
3. i have a weakness for horror movie slashers
4. i like to take unknown routes while walking, also because it helps me to quickly come up with new verse lines for song lyrics
5. i love hard techno raves with a good sound system in cool locations

In times of an unbelievable offer of music and social media algorithms that pay more and more for profile reach, it becomes more and more important that you actively communicate with your favorite artists through likes, comments and direct messages, so that their contributions continue to appear in your news feeds and you are always up to date regarding new releases and concert info.
