Stelle dich kurz vor / Bandvorstellung
CNVX (CoNVeX), ist eine elektronische Dark-Rock-Band aus Chemnitz, die klaren Gesang mit energiegeladenen Beats, rockigen Gitarren und Refrains kombiniert. Ihr Sound grenzt an die Genres Rock, Pop und Darkwave, bis hin zum Metal. Diese perfekte Mischung charakterisiert den einzigartigen Sound von CNVX. Die erste Idee zum Projekt ist Ende 2021 entstanden. Über das Jahr 2022 hinweg haben wir die ersten Songs geschrieben, produziert und auch auf allen Streaming Kanälen veröffentlicht. Unsere Zielstellung war es, im Jahr 2023 die ersten Konzerte zu spielen, gesagt getan! Wir haben in diesem Jahr bereits auf mehreren kleinen Festivals spielen dürfen, unter anderem auf dem Junitonfestival in Syrau und dem Black Mountain Festival in Schwarzenberg. Highlight bisher war ein Konzert ein Support für Future Palace und Mono Inc. auf dem Gasometer Warmup zum Stadtfest Zwickau vor über 4000 Besuchern.

Wann und wie bist du / ihr zur Musik gekommen?
Wir hören alle intensiv Musik seit unseren jüngsten Tagen, wir haben uns darüber definiert und identifiziert. Der Wunsch selbst Musik zu machen, war schon sehr früh da. Die erste Band gründeten einige von uns schon völlig autodidaktisch in der Schulzeit. Vor CNVX waren bis auf France alle schon in anderen Bands und Projekten sehr aktiv. France selbst musizierte vor CNVX für sich selbst, hat viele Songs geschrieben und autodidaktisch mehrere Instrumente erlernt.
Lebst du / ihr von der Musik hauptberuflich?
Leider nein, das ist in der heutigen Zeit sehr schwer umzusetzen. Das ist erst ab einer gewissen Größenordnung möglich.
Wenn Nein, welchen Beruf übst du / ihr aus?
Wir sind lustigerweise alle auf die ein oder andere Art in der Sozialbranche tätig 🙂
Wie entsteht ein Song? Erst die Melodie, oder erst der Text?
Aktuell entsteht zuerst ein instrumentales Grundgerüst, dann suchen wir meist gemeinsam nach einem inhaltlichen Thema welches verarbeitet werden soll. Hier ist jedes Bandmitglied aufgefordert einzubringen, was einen gerade bewegt oder gern bearbeitet werden soll. Auf diese Basis hin schreibt France dann passgenau den Text. Im Studio wird dieser dann in Melodie und Form in das Stück eingearbeitet.
Was ist deine / eure Inspirationsquelle?
Inspirationsquelle sind unsere Erfahrung, Gefühle, Bedürfnisse und erlebte Situationen. Mit der Musik können wir dies auf eine wunderschöne Art und Weise verarbeiten.
Nach welchen Kriterien wird die Setlist zusammengestellt?
Aktuell sind hier die Möglichkeiten der Zusammenstellung noch überschaubar da es noch nicht so viele Songs gibt. Wir arbeiten mit Hochdruck an neuem Material. Sie Zusammenstellung erfolgt aber grundsätzlich aber so, dass alles einen guten Spannungsbogen ergibt, welcher das Konzert über die gesamte Länge hin interessant bleiben lässt.
Was bedeutet für euch Musik?
Wie schon erwähnt, Musik ist für uns alle Lebensinhalt mit höchster Priorität, Musik ist ein Lebensgefühl über das wir uns auch nach innen und außen definieren.
Welche Musik hörst ihr privat?
Das ist geschmacklich schon relativ breit gefächert. Wichtig ist für uns alle, dass hinter den Bands und Projekten die wir hören, ernsthafte Musiker mit Herzblut für ihre Sache stecken. Die Genres reichen von Gothic, Wave, Pop, Rock über elektronische Musik, hin bis zum Metalcore und all den Subgenres dieser Richtungen 🙂 CNVX ist eine gute Mischung aus all unseren musikalischen Vorlieben.
Gibt es musikalische Vorbilder?
Wirkliche Vorbilder in diesem Sinne eigentlich nicht. Es gibt wahnsinnig viele sehr gute Musiker, an denen man sich natürlich orientiert. Es ist aber sehr wichtig hier seine eigene musikalische Identität zu finden.

Introduce yourself briefly / Band introduction
CNVX (CoNVeX), is an electronic dark rock band from Chemnitz, Germany, combining clear vocals with energetic beats, rocking guitars and choruses. Their sound borders on the genres of rock, pop and darkwave, all the way to metal. This perfect mixture characterizes the unique sound of CNVX. The first idea for the project was born at the end of 2021. Over the year 2022 we wrote the first songs, produced them and also released them on all streaming channels. Our goal was to play the first concerts in 2023, said done! We have already been allowed to play at several small festivals this year, including the Junitonfestival in Syrau and the Black Mountain Festival in Schwarzenberg. Highlight so far was a concert a support for Future Palace and Mono Inc. on the Gasometer Warmup to the city festival Zwickau in front of over 4000 visitors.

When and how did you come to music?
We all listen to music intensively since our youngest days, we defined and identified ourselves through it. The desire to make music ourselves was there very early. The first band was formed by some of us completely self-taught in our school days. Before CNVX, all of us except France were already very active in other bands and projects. France herself made music for herself before CNVX, wrote many songs and learned several instruments autodidactically.
Do you / you live from the music full-time?
Unfortunately no, that is very difficult to do in today’s world. It is only possible from a certain size.
If no, what is your profession?
Funnily enough, we all work in the social sector in one way or another 🙂
How does a song come into being? First the melody, or first the lyrics?
Currently, first an instrumental framework is created, then we usually look together for a content-related theme which should be processed. Here, each band member is asked to contribute what moves them at the moment or what they would like to work on. On this basis, France then writes the exact lyrics. In the studio, this is then incorporated into the melody and form of the piece.
What is your source of inspiration?
The source of inspiration is our experience, feelings, needs and experienced situations. With music we can process this in a beautiful way.
According to which criteria is the setlist compiled?
Currently, the possibilities of the composition are still manageable because there are not so many songs. We are working hard on new material. But basically the setlist is put together in such a way that everything creates a good arc of tension, which keeps the concert interesting over the entire length.
What does music mean to you?
As already mentioned, music is for all of us the purpose of life with the highest priority, music is an attitude towards life through which we define ourselves internally and externally.
What kind of music do you listen to privately?
That is relatively wide-ranging in terms of taste. The important thing for all of us is that behind the bands and projects we listen to are serious musicians with heart and soul for their cause. The genres range from gothic, wave, pop, rock to electronic music, metalcore and all the subgenres of these directions 🙂 CNVX is a good mixture of all our musical preferences.
Are there any musical idols?
No real role models in this sense. There are a lot of very good musicians, and of course you orientate yourself on them. But it is very important to find your own musical identity.

We would like to say thank you to all of you who have accompanied us up to this point and will hopefully stay with us for a long time to come!!! The insanely positive feedback on our work is incredible and better than we could have ever dreamed! Dear thanks also to our small “crew” of very talented and creative people, without you all this wouldn’t work like this!!!!
