Hallo, mein Name ist Tara und ich bin Morgue VVitch. Ich habe dieses Projekt 2019 mit der Idee begonnen, etwas Dunkles zu erschaffen, das von meiner Liebe für Horror und das Okkulte angetrieben wird.

Wann und wie bist du zur Musik gekommen?

Im Alter von dreizehn Jahren begann ich mit klassischer Musik und ging mit einem Stipendium für Gesang auf die Hochschule, wo ich anfing, Musiktheorie zu lernen. Klassische Musik ist etwas, das in mir ziemlich tief verwurzelt ist, aber meine Seele sehnte sich nach etwas, mit dem ich mich auf einer tieferen, persönlicheren Ebene verbinden konnte. Ich habe mich jahrelang mit dunkler elektronischer Musik beschäftigt, habe Gitarre und Synthesizer in einer elektronischen Rockband gespielt, bin dann dazu übergegangen, Gesangskollaborationen zu machen, und habe schließlich angefangen, Musikproduktion zu lernen und mein heutiges Soloprojekt Morgue VVitch gegründet. Ich schreibe, nehme auf, produziere meine eigene Musik und mache Sounddesign. Ich lerne ständig, wie ich ein besserer Musikproduzent und Künstler werden kann. Ich bin noch sehr neu in der Musikproduktion, aber ich habe das Gefühl, dass ich schon sehr weit gekommen bin, seit ich vor ein paar Jahren angefangen habe.

Ich habe meine erste Single “Midnight Sun of Summer” im Jahr 2020 veröffentlicht, gefolgt von einem Remix-Album und meiner ersten EP “LORE”, die Anfang dieses Jahres erschienen ist. Meine erste LP wird 2023 erscheinen, zusammen mit einem gemeinsamen Album mit dem britischen Witch-House-Künstler ΔLLICΘRN.

Wie entsteht ein Song? Erst die Melodie, dann der Text?

Die Entstehung eines Songs ist bei jedem einzelnen ein einzigartiger Prozess. Es hängt wirklich davon ab, was ich im Moment fühle. Ich beginne vielleicht mit einem Synthesizer oder einer Stimme, manchmal schreibe ich auch zuerst einen Text. Einige meiner Ideen entstehen schnell und ich schreibe einen ganzen Song in 2 Stunden, andere enden bei einem 8-Takt-Loop und ich komme später zurück, um zu sehen, ob es sich lohnt, darauf aufzubauen.Fünf Fakten über mich…

Nun, ich bin Widder, ich beginne jeden Morgen mit einem Kaffeeritual, ich habe eine Albino-Königsschlange namens Ruby, ich bin in der katholischen Kirche aufgewachsen, und ich bin ganz sicher nicht katholisch. Religion ist nicht mein Ding

Was möchtest du deinen Fans noch sagen?

Ich habe in den letzten Jahren einige wunderbare Fans aus der ganzen Welt gewonnen und ich kann mich gar nicht genug dafür bedanken, dass sie meine Musik hören und zu meinen Auftritten kommen. Das bedeutet mir wirklich alles. Ich freue mich sehr darauf, neue Musik zu veröffentlichen, mehr Konzerte zu spielen und hoffe, in den kommenden Jahren neue Fans zu gewinnen.

Introduce yourself briefly

Hello, my name is Tara and I am Morgue VVitch. I started this project in 2019 with the idea of creating something darkand driven by my love for horror and the occult.

When and how did you get into music?

I started with music at the age of thirteen doing classical music and went to college on a scholarship for vocalperformance where I began learning music theory. Classical music is something that is pretty ingrained into me, butmy soul was craving something that I could connect with on a deeper more personal level. I’ve dabbled with darkelectronic music for years, played guitar and synth for an electronic rock band, then moved onto doing vocalcollaborations, and finally started learning music production and created what is now my solo project Morgue VVitch. I write, record, produce my own music, and do sound design. I’m continuously learning how to be a better musicproducer and artist. I’m still very new to music production but feel I’ve already come a long way from when I started a few years ago.

I released my first single, “Midnight Sun of Summer” in 2020 followed by a remix album, and my first EP, “LORE”released earlier this year. My first LP will release in 2023 along with a collaboration album with UK witch house artist, ΔLLICΘRN.

How is a song created? First the melody, then the lyrics?

Creating a song is a unique process for each one. It really depends on what I’m feeling at the moment. I might startwith a synth, or a vocal, sometimes I start writing lyrics first. Some of my ideas come out quickly and I write an entiresong in 2 hrs, some end at an 8 bar loop and I come back later to see if it’s something worth building on.Five facts about me…

What else would you like to say to your fans?

I have made some wonderful fans from all around the world these past couple of years and I can’t thank everyoneenough for listening to my music and coming out to see me perform. It really does mean everything to me. I’m reallyexcited to release new music, play more shows, and I hope to make new fans in the years to come
